दरअसल किशोर कुमार गाबा को अपनी युवाअवस्था में एक लड़की से प्यार हो गया था लेकिन किस्मत ऐसी की दिल की बात इस युवा की जबान पर आ ना सकीं और दिल की बात दिल में रह गई। दिल दिवाना तो हुआ लेकिन मन कबूतर बन उड़कर उस लड़की को अपनी मोहब्बत की दास्तान बता न सका। राहें जुदा हो गई और किशोर की मोहब्बत सिर्फ किशोर के दिल तक रहीं और वह अजनबी लड़की किशोर के दिल की बात को समझ भी न सकीं। और यहीं से किशोर के मन में एक कसक रह गई अपनी बात को न कह पाने की। प्यार की इस खूबसूरत जंग में वह अकेला ही रह गया और एक तरफा प्यार की चाहत एक टीस बन गई। एक ऐसी भूल जो हमेशा दिल के करीब रहीं।

लेकिन किशोर कुमार गाबा अपने इस प्यार को आज भी याद रखें हुए हैं और अपनी पहली प्रेमिका के नाम को अब तक 1.4 मीलियन बार लिख चुकें हैं और उनका इरादा कम से कम 10 मीलियन बार लिखने का इरादा वे रखते है। पिछले 13 सालों से वे ऐसा कर रहें हैं और इसके लिए वे रोज अपनी जिंदगी का एक घंटा देते हैं।

किशोर कुमार गाबा का कहना है कि वे अपने पहले प्रेम को अभिव्यक्त नहीं कर सकें थे और उस लड़की को अपने दिल की बात नहीं बता सके थे, वे उससे विवाह करना चाहते थे लेकिन यह बात वह उसे कभी कह नहीं सकें। बस अपनी इसी भूल के लिए वह अपने आप को सजा देने के लिए उसके नाम को बार - बार लिखते हैं जिससे अन्य प्रेम करने वालों को कुछ सबक मिल सकें। और फिर कोई ऐसी भूल ना करें जैसी की उन्होंने की है।
